Our beloved son and brother Race Robert Johannessohn 30, of Nashville, TN formerly of Kelly Lake/Hibbing MN died unexpectedly Sept. 24th, 2023. Race was born in International Falls, MN on July 27th, 1993, to Thad and Wendy Johannessohn. Race attended Hibbing High School and graduated in 2012. He was a member of the hockey and tennis teams and loved dirt track racing and dirt biking. Race was awarded the Kappor Scholarship as the student that demonstrated the largest improvement over his senior year.
After graduation he attended college in Hibbing and Gallatin, TN and traveled to 48 states while working for Allover Media and the OOH Squad. He bounced around with his beloved boxer Allie until he landed in Clarksville, TN with the love of his life Emily Churchman. Race teamed up with his father to start Social Indoor franchises in both Clarksville and Nashville and today Social Indoor Nashville is the largest indoor advertising company in TN and one of the largest in the country. Race was a member of the Clarksville Kiwanis club, several networking groups, and local chambers.
Any person lucky enough to see his infectious smile knew right away that he loved fiercely and passionately, and that the fun had started when he walked in the door (and anybody that knew him - knew it was always later than he said he would be there). He was a visionary that never saw something out of reach, and he never backed down from a challenge. He was completely loyal to his friends and family. Race made friends wherever he went and enjoyed attending many events with his father while building their business.
Race loved gardening and flowers and he loved building/working on projects around the house.
Race was truly one of kind. He had the ability to make you so happy in his presence. His unwavering love for his family and friends will be missed. We rest knowing that he is at peace, and that we will be together again.
Race is survived by his parents Thad and Wendy; loving brother Riley (Desiree Jensen), Grandma Beatrice Friend, Aunties and Uncles Lisa Johannessohn (Billy Axelson), Peggy and Bob Hudson, Tammy Harmon, Lori Page, Jami and Rick Fedorowski, Uncle Steph Page along with many cousins and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Larry and Jeri Johannessohn and Uncle Greg Harmon.
There will be a memorial get together in Nashville on Wed Oct 4th 2pm -? at The Slider House, Races favorite place where he conducted a lot of business and made many dear friends. A remembrance service will be held at the Open Door Church in Hibbing, MN on Sat. Oct 7th with visitation and a dessert bar with coffee and refreshments from 9:30 am to 11:00 am with a service to follow.
Donations in memory of Race can be made to the Clarksville Kiwanis Club where Race was Vice President and Chair of their annual rodeo.
