Quinten "Quinn" Bissonette, 43, a rural Spring Valley, MN resident, died on Tuesday (May 5, 2020) of injuries suffered in a logging accident at his home.
Quinten Paul Bissonette was born on November 20, 1976 in Rochester, MN to Mark and Susan (Molohon) Bissonette. He grew up in Stewartville and attended schools there, graduating from Stewartville High School in 1995. Quinn was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Stewartville. He attended Winona State University, where he received his Bachelor's of Nursing Degree. He continued his education earning his Master's Degree in Transformational Leadership from Augsburg University in Minneapolis, MN. Quinn was also adjunct faculty with Augsburg University's nursing program. Quinn was married on October 8, 2005 at St. John's Catholic Church in Rochester, MN to Ellen Christine Borst. The couple lived in Stewartville before moving to rural Spring Valley in 2006, where they built their home and began raising their boys.
He was employed at Mayo Clinic Rochester and was currently a Nurse Manager on Francis - 2C at St. Marys Hospital. Quinn was a natural born leader and gifted motivational speaker. Quinn spoke throughout the Midwest to the medical community carrying his message about personal and professional development. Ellen is also employed at Mayo Clinic as the Bariatric and Diabetes Program Coordinator. Throughout his nursing career and continuing education, he gained various certifications and had recently began a venture with his brother Matt, Bissonette Leadership Services, helping others discover their talents.
Quinn enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and was experienced at logging for their wood burning home furnace. He loved taking his boys into the woods, teaching them how to exercise and they had recently began running together. He enjoyed spending time with the boys. Quinn and Ellen looked forward to their annual football trip to visit an NFL outdoor stadium. He was a dog lover and with his family fondly remember - Indi, Rowdy, Suki and Banjo, who preceded Quinn in death. Ellen and his sons were the most important part of his life. He loved any kind of music played loud so you could feel it. He loved to gather with family and friends to "light it up" in celebration with food, drinks, fireworks and target practice. He lived life full-out, with pure optimism.
Quinn is survived by his wife - Ellen and 4 sons - Mark, Joe, Paul and Matt all at home in Spring Valley; his parents - Mark and Susan Bissonette of Stewartville; his in-laws - John and Candy Borst of Rochester; 1 sister and 4 brothers - Nathan (Gaylene) Bissonette of St. Paul, MN; Kevin Bissonette of Grand Rapids, MN - Heather (Todd) Ludwig of Marshall, MN; Matt (Cheryl) Bissonette of Owatonna, MN and Dominic (Sarah) of Minneapolis, MN and brother-in-law - Mark (Jenn) Borst of Pine Island, MN.
The family has chosen to not hold a gathering. Due to public health concerns, the funeral and burial will be for the immediate family only. Ellen wants us all to remember that tomorrow is never guaranteed. The best way to celebrate Quinn's life, is to "LIVE, your life". In lieu of flowers, Quinn's family has requested contributions to the Quinn Bissonette Memorial Fund for Ellen and the boys to use towards their life and to carry forward Quinn's passion and message. Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville. Condolences and memories of Quinn are welcome at www.griffin-gray.com
