Quentin "Sarge" Stanley Sargent, 87, of Lake City Michigan, died at 1 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2024 at Cadillac Munson Hospital, Cadillac, Michigan.
Sarge was born on April 21, 1937, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Virgil and Anna (Struss) Sargent. He graduated from Huntington Township in 1955. He retired from the Coast Guard on April 1, 1978, after 20 years of service. Sarge married Nancy Elizabeth Wires on July 27, 1960.
He enjoyed spending time with his family. His hobbies included collecting classic model cars, playing the harmonica and he was also an artist.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Elizabeth Sargent of Lake City, Michigan; Daughters, Tina ("Boz") Bozkurt of Aberdeen, North Carolina, and Niki Sargent-Schafer of Lake City, Michigan; Sister, Iris Abbott; Brother, Roger Sargent; Grandsons, Derek (Katie) Bozkurt of Oakpoint, Texas and Alex (Lani) Bozkurt of Whispering Pines, North Carolina; Granddaughter, Saadet (Garret) Swift of Aurora, Colorado; Great-grandchildren, Ethan, Henry, Landon, Ava and Reija. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Celebration of life services will be held at a later date.
