Porfirio Mancillas Jr., affectionally known as "Porf" "Porfa" "Porfi" and "Phatboy" passed on to eternal life Thursday March 2, 2023, at VBMC. Native of Cameron County he was born July 27, 1984 in Port Isabel, TX to Porfirio Mancillas Sr. and Alicia Garza Mancillas. Porf graduated from Harlingen High School Class of 2002. He was very artistic with an amazing talent for drawing and building things. Porfa was an avid New England Patriot Boston Red Sox, and Boston Celtics fan. He also loved to play basketball at the Harlingen Sports Complex and Arroyo Park. Most importantly he was a family man and loved spending time with his wife and children.
Porf is preceded in death by his stepfather, Samuel J. Zapata.
He leaves to cherish his wonderful memory his loving wife, Jennifer Rae Mancillas, children, Desirae Rosas (Israel), Makayla Emma Mancillas, Noah Ray Gonzalez, Audrey Mancillas, Adelynn Mancillas, Samantha Mancillas, Porfirio Mancillas III, Mother, Alicia Mancillas, sister, Lucia Mancillas-Vega (Anthony), niece, Zerena Mancillas, sister in law, Michelle Espindola, nephews, Johnathan Espindola, Adrian Espindola, Orlando Espindola, mother in law, Irma Rosas and father in law, Raymond (Ray) Rosas (Dolores) and his fur babies, Diamond and Jewelz.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 7:00 pm Wednesday evening. Porf will be cremated as per his wishes.
