Phyllis Maxine Yetter , 80 Nov 18, 1940 - Jul 26, 2021 Phyllis Maxine (Malcolm) Yetter, 80, of Clear Spring, MD, passed away peacefully, Monday, July 26, 2021, at her home.
Born November 18, 1940, in Washington County, MD, she was the daughter of the late John Robert Malcolm and Edith Pearl (Day) Malcolm.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Daniel Joseph "Joe" Yetter, in 2013.
Phyllis retired from Washington County Board of Education where she was a school bus driver for over 40 years.
She was a member of Hilltop Christian Fellowship in Clear Spring and a member of the Joseph C. Herbert American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Phyllis was an avid duck pin bowler and a member of numerous bowling leagues throughout the county. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and playing bingo. Phyllis volunteered her time each year during the Clear Spring Carnival in the eating stand. She loved shopping for bargains. Most of all, Phyllis loved her family and cherished all the time she spent with them. Her love shined through the big family meals that she would prepare for them.
She is survived by two sons, Edward L. Yetter, Joseph M. Yetter and wife, Cheryll; all of Clear Spring, MD; 2 grandsons, Ryan Yetter and fiancee, Jenna Knable, and Eric Yetter and fiancee, Kaley Lefferts; their mother, Bonnie Yetter; and a niece, Pam Byler and husband, Jim.
In addition to her husband and parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma L. Malcolm, and 2 brothers, Walter T. Malcolm and Clyde E. Malcolm. She is the last member of her immediate family.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 10:30 am at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, MD. Pastor couple John and Melissa Miller will officiate. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, MD.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm. For the convenience of friends, you may visit the funeral home after noon.
