Phyllis Ann Wilson, 81, of Greenfield, passed away April 18, 2022 at St. Vincent Heart Hospital in Carmel. She passed very peacefully, surrounded by her children and husband of 63 years, and seemed very content with the fact that she would be seeing her loved ones in heaven. Although she did not attend church, she was a devout Christian, and loved Jesus Christ. She was born on June 17, 1940 in Lakeview, Ohio as the daughter of William Carl and Elsa June (Hughes) Schick.
Phyllis leaves behind to mourn her loss her husband, Jerry Wilson, whom she married November 22, 1958; son, Robert Wilson; daughter, Kimberly Coffey; and son, Jeffery (Charlotte) Wilson; grandchildren, Casey (Kathleen) Wilson, Heather Wilson and Alexander (Sierra) Coffey; also, she was blessed with 4 great-grandchildren, Robert Carter Wilson, Jacqueline Marie Wilson, John Robert Wilson and Oliver Grant Coffey; siblings, Jim Schick, Barbara (Bill) Ferling, and Gary (Gayle) Schick; and many cousins.
Besides her parents Carl and June, she was preceded in death by her infant brother, Bobby.
After marriage she resided in Indianapolis until 1991 when her and her husband moved to Greenfield. She loved her family with a fierce passion and loved being a homemaker. Her great-grandchildren filled her last years with adoring joy and happiness.
Phyllis was a past member of the Indianapolis Quilt Society and Common Threads Quit Guild. She was an accomplished gardener and enjoyed traveling and antiquing. She liked decorating her home for each holiday theme. In the early years, she enjoyed hunting fishing and camping with her family.
Her family wishes to thank all her caregivers; Dr. Julie Degler and her staff, for their compassion and devotion to her health; Dr. Thomas Failinger, who helped her through some scary times; and also, the ICU nursing staff for the station in the area of room 229 at St. Vincent Heart Hospital. Rather than mourn her loss, Phyllis would encourage you and your family to go out to dinner and celebrate Phyllis' life.
