Phyllis Green Thies

Phyllis Green Thies, 96, of Charlotte died on July 21, 2018. She was born in West Palm Beach, Florida on June 9, 1922 to Elizabeth W. and Henry O. Green. After moving to Charlotte in 1931, she joined Holy Comforter Episcopal Church. She graduated from Central High School, studied music at Queens College and later at Carolina Business College. Dedicated to the medical profession for 60 years, Phyllis only worked for three doctors. She will be remembered for her zest for life, remarkable energy and many intergenerational friendships lovingly cultivated.

Phyllis is survived in death by her only child, Karen Thies Crane, and her grandsons, Kingsley and Kenton. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Elizabeth Green Holmberg.

Services will be held at the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 27 with a reception to follow.
