Phyllis P. Willson, 91, of Taberg, NY, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. She was born in Rome, NY, on May 4, 1930, a daughter of the late Clinton and Madeline (Sadler) Peacock. On March 4, 1952, she was united in marriage to Richard Willson. They built a wonderful life together full of love and adventures until he passed away in 2003.
Phyllis was a Registered Nurse for many years, having worked in the Emergency Room at Rome Memorial Hospital; Stonehedge Nursing Home and Dr. Henry Reid's Office.
Phyllis was a loving and kind person with a beautiful smile. She loved flowers which was evident by her beautiful gardens and hanging baskets she had each year on her porch. She loved to knit and was very well known for her warm mittens (she donated hundreds of pairs since her retirement from nursing). She was an excellent baker, known most for her pies and cookies-her fudge nut rolls were a favorite of many.
She is survived by two daughters, Cathy Kimpton (Keith) and Patty Woodard (Brian); three sons, James Willson (Tammy), Robert Willson (Barbara) and Terry Willson (Lori); a sister, Jane Puffer; a brother, Larry Peacock; 17 grandchildren - Lindsey Willson Stuart, Kaylee Willson Clawson, Richard Willson, Nathaniel Willson, Amanda Willson Bonanza, Cori Willson, Tai Willson, Taryn Willson, Brian Willson, Holly Willson Mazzaferro, Danny Segur, Travis Kimpton, Chacea Kimpton Duerr, Dustin Kimpton, Destonie Kimpton Cormier, Brandie Woodard Getek and Joshua Woodard; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Sally Congdon; a brother, Neal Peacock; a granddaughter, LaShonda Willson; a grandson, Shane Willson; and her companion of many years, Stanley Gleason.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 8th at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, 9464 State Rt 13, Camden, NY. Interment will take place at Fish Creek Landing Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday, April 8th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The celebration of life will take place immediately following calling hours.
