Phyllis Durham Mullins, of Kettering, Ohio, was reunited in Heaven with the love of her life, Gerald, on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022. Phyllis was born Wednesday, April 18, 1934, on Ellison Ridge in Eubank, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Hershel & Lena Williams Durham. Phyllis was the widow of the late Gerald Mullins, who preceded her in death Wednesday, November 15, 1989. Phyllis was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. She was an English teacher and homemaker. She loved the Lord and was a proud member of Pilot Baptist Church. Phyllis loved to travel and especially loved to read. Phyllis treasured family above all. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy. Phyllis leaves two daughters, Angela Barger (Jeff) of Kettering, and Lisa Santi (Victor) of Centerville, and one son, Jeffrey Mullins (Mary) of Kettering; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Lindsay, Jenna, Ashley, Chelsea, Sam, Katie, and Gina; nine great-grandchildren (and one due August 2022); and several other extended family members and friends who mourn her passing. In addition to her husband and parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by three sisters, Edna Morena, Virginia Lee Bray and Venus Durham and one brother, Bennie Durham. A public visitation will be held 12PM-1PM Monday, April 25, 2022, at Pilot Baptist Church. A public funeral service will be held 1:00PM Monday, at the church. Brother Greg Haynes will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Pilot Cemetery. Memorial contributions suggested to Pilot Baptist Church or Hospice of Dayton.
