WILSON - Phyllis Jackson Cavalieri, age 88 passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. Born in Washington County, NC on October 31, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Jackson and Sarah Ramey Jackson. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Anthony "Tony" Cavalieri; and by her brother Ray Jackson.
Phyllis was a gifted soul with many talents. She was the past co-owner of Kay-Ann's, a ceramic store which was located in downtown Rocky Mount. Later in life, she would go on to work as an assistant to Kathy Tobias Interior Design. Among many things, Phyllis especially enjoyed working in her flower garden. A devoted and loving mother, "nana", "neno", and dear friend to many, she will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Burke of Wilson; her two sons, Vic Cavalieri and his wife, Sue, of Rocky Mount and Anthony "Tony" Cavalieri, II and his wife, Ellen Look, of Seattle, WA; her grandchildren, Paul Cavalieri and wife, Shira, Sarah Cavalieri and partner, Jason Flack, Sally Cavalieri Ellis and husband, Dustin, and Heather Burke Cribbs; great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Sammi Cribbs, Alma Cavalieri, and Oliver Jack Ellis.
A Memorial Graveside Service to celebrate Phyllis's life will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Pineview Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives following the graveside service at Pineview Cemetery and at the home.
The family would like to especially thank Phyllis's dearest friends and neighbors, Ann Brasswell, Nan Hinnant Tripp, Kathy Tobias, and Peggy Cavalieri for their love and support.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is requesting the need for social distancing and wearing of masks due to health concerns faced around our nation at this time.
