Phyllis (Caputo) Therrien, 87, of Bristol, widow of Russell Therrien, passed away at Bristol Hospital on
May 7, 2022. Born in Bristol, CT, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Marietta (Ferraro)
Caputo. She resided in Bristol her entire life and was a member of St. Joseph Church. Phyllis worked as a
secretary for the Bristol Housing Authority for many years. Later in life she found herself at home
working at Patrick Baker & Sons in Southington. Phyllis had a strong Catholic faith and a special devotion
to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She lived her faith throughout her life, caring for family members and
friends, volunteering at her church, and donating to numerous causes, especially children in need. She
was an amazing cook and baker, and her biscotti cookies were in high demand during the holidays.
Phyllis is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law Michael and Jill Therrien of Bristol, and Louis
Therrien also of Bristol, CT; two daughters Leslie Ruggerio and Gigi Barnard both of Bristol, CT; a brother
Thomas Caputo of Bristol, CT; four grandchildren, Marisa Barnard and Eric, Sydney, and Kacie Therrien
and several nieces and nephews. Phyllis was predeceased by her son Robert Therrien. A funeral mass
will be held Friday, May 13, 2022 at 10 am at St. Joseph Church, Queen St., Bristol. Burial will follow in
St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday evening from 5-7pm at DuPont Funeral Home, 25
Bellevue Ave., Bristol. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph School, 335
