Phyllias Canzada Cornett Bridges entered peacefully into the arms of Jesus on March 8, 2022 at the age of 82. Born and raised in Kingston, GA she was a longtime member of Barnsley United Methodist and currently Mizpah United Methodist Church. She loved to sing and play piano and it was here she caught the eye of her husband of 63 years. Together they faithfully raised two sons and built a life in Cobb, then Gwinnett, and Putnam County before returning to the Rome area. She loved spending time with her family and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She never turned down holding a baby or having a sweet to eat. She was a talented musician, leading the choirs at numerous churches through the years. Her many hobbies included various crafting, baking, and cooking delicious meals for her family.
Phyllias is pre-deceased by her parents William and Annie Mae Cornett, and her brother Lewis Cornett. She is survived by her husband Herschel Bridges, sons; Tony (Leslie), Mark (Kari), granddaughters Katelyn (Daniel), Zadie (Robby), and Alexus (Jamie), and great grandchildren; Deacon, Merit, Jack, Jonah, Isaac, Eli, Jeremiah, and Leeloo. She is also survived by two sisters, Joan Oliver of Richmond, VA and Martha Gibson of Rome, GA; and brother Max (Ava) Cornett of Rome, GA. and multiple nieces and nephews. Her absense will be felt by many and she will be tremendously missed.
Visitiation will be held at Daniels Funeral Home in Rome, GA from 4-6 PM on March 10, 2022. Services will be held at Barnsley United Methodist Church in Kingston on March 11, 2022 at 11 AM.
