Phillip Arthur Johnson, 83, formerly of Lincolnshire, Illinois, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 6, 2022, in Clearwater, Florida. Third-generation co-owner of family restaurant, Phil Johnson's, famously known for their rotisserie chicken and "just good food", established in 1928 on the corner of Waukegan & Lake Cook Roads in Northbrook, Illinois. He loved to strike up a conversation with anyone who was willing to listen. He was a complicated and stubborn man who lived life on his own terms but everyone who knew him has a great 'Phil Johnson' story to tell because of his large appetite to always have a great time. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his family, friends and all whom had the pleasure of knowing him. Survived by his loyal Wife of 57 years, Carol Mae (Stueber) Johnson of Vernon Hills, Illinois, Son, Michael "Mike" Johnson of Mundelein, Illinois, Daughters, Michelle "Shelly" Johnson of Vernon Hills, Illinois and Mindy (John) Dietz of Gurnee, Illinois. He was a proud Papa of his four Grandchildren, Shawna Burnicks, Connor Terry, Morgan Terry and Logan Dietz. In addition, he is survived by his Sister, Carol Ann Piggott, Sister-in-Law, Jean Covalsen, Nieces, Christine (Sean) Fleury, Kim (Greg) Ryza, Nephews, Mark (Sarah) Piggott, Kris Covalsen and many Cousins. Preceded in death by his Father, Arthur Johnson, Mother, Elsie (Kinast) Johnson and Brother-in-Laws, Donald Piggott and Lee Covalsen.
