Philip Raymond Webb, "Raymond", of Quitman, Texas, passed away on June 7, 2019 at home surrounded by beloved family and friends. He lost a two year, hard fought battle with cancer, exhibiting extraordinary grit and a will to live every step of the way. Visitation and memorial services will be held at Lynch Funeral Service, 4238 State Hwy 34 South, Greenville, TX 75402. Visitation will be Friday, June 14, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 PM. Raymond will be buried next to his late father, Philip Haskell Webb, along with many other generations of the Webb family. Raymond was born in Ada, Oklahoma on June 23, 1951 to late parents, Philip Webb and Betty (Webb) Strickland. He graduated from Farmersville (Texas) High School in 1969. Following high school, Raymond served honorably in the U.S. Army for two years at Fort Carson, Colorado as a radio communication specialist. Upon completion of his military service, Raymond chose to continue to serve his country in law enforcement. Raymond served as a law enforcement officer for over three years with the Durant (Oklahoma) Police Department and for over four years with Greenville (Texas) Police Department. He left the police force to pursue his college education and in 1982, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from East Texas State University. Following graduation, Raymond was hired by E-Systems in Greenville, where he worked for 24 years until his retirement in 2006 from L-3 Technologies. Raymond's passions in life revolved around a fishing pole, guns, sports and a renowned support of the U.S. military. In 2004, he moved to Lake Fork, Texas so he could spend his retirement fishing on the lake. He lived in a close-knit community of retirees that is reminiscent of the movie "Grumpy Old Men", particularly with his closest friend, Robert Smith. Raymond is survived by his two sons, Lance (Kara) and Kyle (Jessica), ex-wife and caretaker, Kathy Webb, seven grandchildren, Graham, Molly, Charlsie, Allison, Jeremiah, Gunnar and Alexandra. Raymond is also survived by his siblings Dana Keith Webb, Fonda Kapple, Sondra (Rick) Landrum and William (Belinda) Strickland.
