Philip "Phil" Eugene Harris, 64, of Seymour passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021. He was born on October 14, 1956, in Cleveland, Tennessee. Phil was an Educator for 40 years and taught at Bradley Central High School in Cleveland, Murray County Georgia, and retired from Austin East High School in Knoxville. He received "Teacher of the Year" while serving the community at Austin East High School. Phil was a mentor to many students throughout his tenure and was very involved with the Boy's Club in Cleveland. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Tennessee Volunteers. Phil will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Tamra Wyrick Harris; grandparents, Garland and Azzie Marr; mother, Janie Marr Harris Stinson; and father, Quentin Harris.
Phil is survived by his siblings, Julie Prichard (Frank), Betsy Ensley (Randy), Tina Benefield, Lisa Chase (Don), Donnie Harris (Lisa), and Mickey Harris (Ann); several nieces and nephews; and extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM Sunday, September 5th at Atchley Funeral Home, 122 Peacock Court, Seymour, TN 37865. Due to COVID-19, all guests are encouraged to wear face coverings.
