"Loving son, brother, uncle and great uncle."
Peter Zagres, 54 of Cheshire, entered into the gates of heaven on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Peter was born in Waterbury on January 17, 1966, son of the late William Zagres and Phyllis (Bergeris) Zagres of Cheshire. Growing up in Cheshire, Peter attended Cheshire Public Schools, graduating from Cheshire High School in 1984. Peter then attended Case Western Reserve University. Having a love for travel, Peter lived in Germany as well as various states across the U.S. Over the last fifteen years, Peter owned and operated Hazox Chemical Reporting Systems, where he formed strong relationships with his employees. He was very grateful for their hard work and their dedication. Peter was especially appreciative of his core team, Ryan, Brittany and Sharon.
Peter was known for his positive attitude and perseverance in the face of adversity. His bright smile and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew him. He valued the time he spent with family and friends, whom he treasured. He especially enjoyed the annual family Christmas Eve celebration.
Besides his mother, Phyllis, Peter leaves behind to cherish his memory his three siblings, James Zagres of Cheshire, Marilyn Vrountas and her husband Harry of Hingham, MA and Nicholas Zagres of Plattsburgh, NY. He also leaves behind his seven beloved nieces and nephews, Ted Vrountas, William Vrountas, Alexander Vrountas, Nicholas Zagres, Alexis Zagres, Isabella Zagres, Madison Sperle and her husband Turner, their two children, Ari and Zaylee Sperle, as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles in the United States and in Greece.
