Peter B. Carlson (78), of Bow, NH, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from complications resulting from congestive heart failure.
Peter was born in West Concord, February 25, 1943, the son of Bertil G. and Louise M. (Bullard) Carlson.
Peter attended Concord High School (Class of '61) and the University of New Hampshire, graduating with a degree in Business Administration in 1965. He served in the US Navy Reserves from 1964 - 1968. Peter worked for the State of New Hampshire for over 30 years, first at the Department of Revenue Administration and then the Department of Transportation. Peter was an avid basketball player and fan, especially for his favorite team, the Duke Blue Devils. Peter was also a professional musician, first playing saxophone with his father's band and later on the electric bass guitar. Peter's electric bass career began in the early 60's with the Avanties and spanned many decades which included such bands as The Movers, Rhumboogie, and Roxanne and the Voodoo Rockers, to name a few. The Movers went on to win the 1995 International Blues Band Competition down in Memphis, Tennessee. Peter's proudest job was being a stay-at-home dad for his three daughters, Stephanie, Kristin and Sarah. They were the light of his life and his joy. His proudest moments were watching his girls be happy. Pete believed that no home was complete without pets and always had one or more furry kids underfoot.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 35 years, Susan, and his daughters Stephanie, Kristin and Sarah. He is also survived by his nephew, Jeff Gagne and wife Holly of Contoocook; nieces Nancy Everleth and husband Peter of Claremont, and Carole Greene of Lebanon; as well as numerous grand nieces and nephews, and his life long best friends.
The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the staff at Concord Hospital ICU for their tremendous kindness and support.
