WILLIAMSBURG - Penelope "Penni" Adair Albee, 79, passed away peacefully in Williamsburg, VA on Thursday, October 21, 2021.
Penni was born in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Margaret and William Keyser. She grew up in California and eventually moved to Virginia where she met her husband, David Albee. There, they raised their family. Upon retiring, they moved to Rocky Mount, NC. She was a member of the largest international women's friendship network, Beta Sigma Phi, and made friends in many locations. Penni was an animal lover with a specific affection for dogs. She rescued several dogs from shelters and adoption events and gave them their forever home.
Penni is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her children, David Holman, Michelle Black, and Dennis Holman (Amy); grandchildren, Todd, Tiffany, Jerry, Claire and Korinne and her sister, Martha "Marti" Gleason, and nieces Page (Richard), Julie, Diane (Brian), Devin, and Brooke.
A service will be held on Saturday, October 30th at 10:00 am at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 301 S. Circle Dr., Rocky Mount, NC 27804. Interment will follow the service in the memorial garden. Memorial contributions in Penni's name can be made to Heartland Hospice, 41 Old Oyster Point Rd. Suite D Newport News, VA 23602, The Ruth Saint Amand Fund at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, or an animal shelter of your choice.
