Peggy Ann Tribby Hawks

Peggy Ann (Tribby) Hawks, 87, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. Although her journey ended in Indiana Peggy had many homes throughout her life. Greenville, Indiana was her final home in order to spend more time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. However, she truly called Leesburg, VA and Cantonment, Florida her hometowns as well.
Peggy was born March 22, 1933 in Lincoln, Virginia, the daughter of Harry and Theresa Tribby. She met and married a sailor, Oda Hawks, and moved away in 1951. After marrying Oda, Peggy moved to Norfolk, Va. her first move as she followed Oda through his Naval career. Her travels included many islands in the Pacific, Guam, the Philippines, Hawaii, Japan and throughout the states. She was a true military spouse supporting her family during his 30 year career. She was a government employee as well for 24 years starting as the teen club manager in the 60s in Yokohama, Japan to leaving the government in the 90's as a secretary for the Naval Security Group Command in Washington D.C.
Peggy was a devoted Southern Baptist who entrusted her faith in God above all else. She was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church in Georgetown, IN. In Cantonment, FL she was a member of Plainview Baptist Church when she lived in Cantonment, FL and a member of Leesburg Baptist Church when she lived in Leesburg, VA.
She enjoyed spending time with her beloved Oda, or "Odie" as she called him and family including her precious Great Grand Children. Peggy and Oda would have been married 70 years in March 2021.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, sisters, Betty Campbell & Phyllis Glascock and brother, Roger Tribby ("Bucky"). Peggy is survived by her beloved husband Oda. Her loving daughter, Lisa Ann (Hawks) and her husband Kevin Duffy of Greenville, Indiana. Her son Curtis "Jimmy" Hawks and his wife Mary Ann of Spartanburg , South Carolina, Brothers Ralph Tribby ("Buddy") of Bunker Hill, WV and Harry ("Sonny") and wife Jane Tribby of Chantilly, VA, three grandchildren, Christopher Hawks (Emily) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Esme Allen (Shayne) of Greenville, IN and Nathan Duffy of New Albany, Indiana. In addition she had five great grandchildren that she absolutely adored, Peyton, Adalea, Skylar, Evelyn and Cora.
The funeral and interment was held in Leesburg, VA on Friday September 18th at Loudoun Funeral Chapel.
