Peggy Northcutt Sewell passed away on November 22, 2020, in Boerne, Texas, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born January 3, 1940, in Amarillo, Texas, to Thomas Dean and Tula Elnora (Owens) Northcutt. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Dick" Hubert Sewell; her sister, Darlene Newby; and son-in-law, Jim Coale. She is survived by her children: Parker Sewell and wife Kathryn of Wylie, TX, Amy Coale Nicholls and husband Gary of Boerne, TX; her grandchildren: Collin Coale (Sydney) of Dallas, TX, Callie Coale Foster (John) of Spicewood, TX, Claire Coale Kaspar (Dennis) of Shiner, TX, Camille Coale Holden (Stephen) of Comfort, TX, Caroline Coale Travis (Connor) of Marfa, TX, Corinne Coale of Boerne, TX, and Tucker Sewell and Tate Sewell of Tulsa, OK; her great-grandchildren: Tula Murphy, Wyatt, Audrey and Charlee Kate Kaspar, Ella and Duke Holden, and Greyson Sewell; and her nephews: Hi E Newby, Jr (Regina) and Byron Newby both of Lubbock, TX.
Dick and Peggy met in Houston while he attended the UT School of Dentistry, and she was in Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. They married July 29, 1961, only hours after she finished sitting for the nursing board exam, a prerequisite to marriage! He began his career as a dentist in the US Navy aboard the USS Ranger traveling all around the world until they settled in Wylie, Texas, in 1966 where Dick began his private dental practice.
Peggy volunteered in much civic, church, and school committees including PTA, Quarterback Club, Dallas Porcelain Art Club, Los Rios Women's Golf League, and rarely, if ever, missed an activity her children were involved in! She stayed in Wylie eight more years after Dick died and then moved to Tulsa in 1998.
Peggy lived in Tulsa for 16 years and was an active parishioner at Christ the King Parish. She served on Pastoral Council, Liturgical Committee, RCIA Committee, Homebound Ministry, and also as Eucharistic Minister. Christ the King Parish was very dear to her heart as were her numerous friends there. She was a Registered Nurse who practiced at Barnes Home Health, the office of Dr. Stephen Gawey, and then finished her career as the manager of the pain clinic at Oklahoma Surgical Hospital. She moved to Boerne in 2014 and loved everything about the Hill Country from the weather to the deer and wildflowers, not to mention the beautiful golf courses.
A Memorial Service is being planned at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Wylie, TX, on December 18, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in her name to Texas Tech University Health Science Center-GIA, Attn: Ruben Gonzales, 3401 4th St - MS9424, Lubbock, Texas 79430.
