With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Peggy Schwartz, who departed this
world at the age of 88. Peggy passed away surrounded by the love of her family and friends on April 12, 2024.
Born on October 26, 1935, Peggy was an exemplary figure of grace, kindness, and poise. She was openhearted, despite
hardship, and was a paragon of quiet strength and faith. Those who were privileged to call themselves her friend or family,
felt the warmth of her exceptional capacity for love.
Throughout her 88 years, Peggy touched the lives of many, both in Georgia, where she was born and raised, and the place
where she spent her final years, and in Pennsylvania, where she lived the majority of her adult life. Peggy was cherished by
her children, Carol, Pat, and Jimmy. She was an affectionate and dedicated grandmother to Kristen, David, Becca, Nathan,
Joanna, Reagan, Hailey, Abigail, Rachel, and Charlotte. In addition, she had 11 great-grandchildren. Her family was of
utmost importance to her and she prayed faithfully for each member daily in addition to supporting each one in whatever
way she could.
The oldest of seven children, Peggy grew up on the Bundrick family farm in Cordele, GA. In high school, she was a star
basketball player who is noted as a record-holder for the highest score in a single day of play for the state of Georgia. A
diligent student, Peggy completed a course of study in business after high school. Subsequent to moving to Pennsylvania
after her marriage to Elden Schwartz, Peggy enjoyed a successful career in banking. She was often described as intelligent,
organized, and resourceful. She loved the outdoors, line dancing, travelling, and sewing and crafting. A lifelong fan of gospel
music, she enjoyed going to concerts and playing piano and singing gospel songs with family and friends.
Peggyundefineds presence extended far beyond her family circle. Peggy was a proud supporter of her brother-in-law, former
Pennsylvania State Senator, Noah Wenger. She also volunteered in many organizations over the years including Brethren in
Christ World Missions, The Ephrata Farm Women, New Joy Church, and Lithia Springs Baptist Church. Especially dear to
her heart were benevolence ministries such as visiting shut-ins and ministering with music in nursing homes. Her acts of
kindness and compassion left an indelible mark on the lives of countless individuals, embodying the true essence of
empathy and goodwill. While we mourn the loss of Peggy, we also celebrate the profound legacy she leaves behind. Her
wisdom, love, and enduring spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of Peggyundefineds remarkable life will include a viewing and visitation time on Friday, April 26, 2024, between the
hours of 7 and 9 pm at the First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs, 10531 Veterans Memorial Highway, Lithia Springs, GA,
30122; with a visitation and service following at the First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
Visitation will be held from 10 - 11am, with the service beginning at 11am.
For friends and loved ones in Pennsylvania, a Memorial Service will be held at the New Joy Brethren in Christ Church, 35
New Joy Drive, Ephrata, PA 17522, on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 4:30 pm.
