Peggy Ann Black-Rogers entered the presence of Jesus on February 4, 2022, at Select Specialty Hospital with loving husband Maurice by her side. Peggy's unwavering faith in God and devotion to her family, church, friends and community were the most important things in her life. Peggy never met a stranger and was never ashamed to share her love for the Lord. She leaves behind so many who will feel her absence in the days to come but there is comfort knowing she is with her Lord and Savior and rejoined with her daughter Stephanie.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Stephanie Lee Moore (St. Laurent); parents, Wayne and Elizabeth Leona (Jones) Dasher; brothers, Leo, Richard, Wayne, Steven and Garry Dasher; sisters, Donna Jean Kidwell, Joann Dasher, and Susan Dasher.
Peggy is survived by her devoted husband, Maurice Rogers; sons, John (Heather) Estep, James Rogers; daughter, Brittney Rogers; grandchildren, Austin Atkins (Katilyn), Dylan, Cody, Gabrielle, Kiersten, Luke, Xander and Oliver; great-granddaughter, Abbey Atkins; sister, Kathy (Michael) Pond; brothers, Robert (Vonnie) Dasher and Vincent (Carolyn) Dasher; several nieces and nephews; longtime friends, Faye Crandall and Peggy Adkins.
Family will receive friends at French Broad Baptist Church from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm on Thursday, February 10, 2022 with funeral services to follow at 7:00 pm. Masks and social distancing are encouraged for those that are not vaccinated. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 pm on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Sharp-Rogers Cemetery, in Sharps Chapel, TN for a 2:00 pm graveside service. Pastor Terry Bunch will be officiating. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in her honor to St. Jude's Children Hospital. Resthaven Funeral Home is honored to serve the Black-Rogers family.
