Pearl Jeanette Rediker, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 28, 2022, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus. Pearl was born December 21, 1929, in Dearborn County to Lute and Amanda Fischvogt. She grew up on a farm with 7 siblings during the depression. In 1940, the US government told her family they had to move to create the Jefferson Proving Ground. They moved to a farm on the Northeastern edge of Jennings County. On this new farm she would climb to the top of their grain silo to watch the planes practice touch-and-goes on the grass landing strip near Grammer. She graduated from North Vernon High School in 1948. Pearl married Edward Rediker Jr. in April of 1950 and they were married for 57 years. They raised three children: Dennis, Tina, and Mark. She was a homemaker while raising her 3 children. Later in life she worked at Elsbury's Greenhouse, Jo-Ann's Fabric and Joy's Bridle Shop. She was a member St Peter's Lutheran Church where she participated in Mary Martha. She loved cooking, especially for her family. Some of her specialties were peanut brittle, pies, homemade noodles, and amazing Thanksgiving dinners. She was also an incredible seamstress, sewing and mending wedding dresses for 100's of beautiful brides. Ed and Pearl helped grow many young lives in Bartholomew County. Pearl was a girls 4-H leader for over 35 years in Rock Creek township. Both Ed and Pearl served as Bartholomew County Rural Youth advisers for over 25 years. Together they were given the Bartholomew County Service Award. As her grandchildren & great grandchildren grew, she attended as many soccer, basketball, and gymnastics events as possible to support them. Other joys in her life were ballroom dancing with Ed, traveling to the Western National Parks with family, taking cruises throughout the Caribbean and Alaska, snow skiing and traveling throughout Europe. Later in life winters were spent in Destin Florida. Summers were spent time landscaping, gardening, and spending time at their Lutheran Lake cottage with family. She water skied into her late 60's. She was proceeded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Rediker; her son Dennis and her siblings, Robert Fischvogt, Verna Stiegerwalt, Nola Funke, Louis Fischvogt, Ruth Hill and James Fischvogt. She is survived by her daughter Tina (Vaughn) Sylva (Columbus), son Mark (Beth) Rediker (Columbus )and daughter-in-Law Roseann Rediker (Columbus); grandchildren, Brian (Jael) Sylva (Columbus), Beth (Nick) Corbolotti (Brownsburg), Jennifer Sylva (Jacksonville, FL), Carri (Cory) Brandt (Columbus), Amanda (Tim) Glick (Columbus), Atalie (Ryan) Antcliff (Columbus), Adam (Katie) Rediker (Columbus), Andrew (Kaitlyn) Rediker (Columbus) and 19 great grand kids. The funeral will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Friday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church with the Revs. Mark Teike and Tim Carter officiating. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to time of service Friday at the church. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
