Pearl Mae Roberts, lovingly known as Sally, of Mount Airy, MD, formerly of Lancaster, PA, and Darnestown, MD, devoted mother and grandmother to many, leaving a lasting impact as a pillar of her church and community. She peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.
Born on January 16, 1925, in Darnestown, MD. She was the daughter of the late Mary K. Ricketts Lowery and Charles Loring Lowery.
She was the devoted wife of the late Howard C. Roberts.
Sally served in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II, offering compassionate care and touching the lives of all she encountered. She was a dedicated church member whose unwavering commitment inspired others. As the first female Elder at Darnestown Presbyterian Church, she exemplified leadership by serving as Church Financial Secretary for over 20 years and cemetery treasurer. Her passion continued at Strasburg Presbyterian Church, where she led the women's circle, uplifting and empowering those around her.
She is preceded in death by a sister, Mary K. Cowdery, and brothers, William, Charles, and Eugene Lowery, and son in law, Marcell Gourley. Sally will be missed by her children Howard 'Denny' Roberts, wife Linda; Tanya Sue Roberts-Gourley, and Charles 'Tim' Roberts, wife Dianne; grandchildren, Jenny Roberts-DeBord (Darrell), Stacey Storm (Justin), and Jack Broschart (Crystal), great-grandchildren Matthew Main (Heather), MacKenzie Goad, Cody Storm, Katie Wicklein (John), Carson and Levi Broschart.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the Darnestown Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 15120 Turkey Foot Rd., Gaithersburg, MD.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Darnestown Presbyterian Church.
