Pearl E. Martin Hickey, 100, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away very peacefully on August 29, 2021 in the Memory Care Unit of The Harrison Senior Living Community. She was born on April 16, 1921 in Emmett, Idaho, to the late Merrill and Myrtle (Robertson) Robinson. Pearl married her high school sweetheart, Gilbert Martin on May 03, 1941 in Nampa, Idaho, and he preceded her in death on November 30, 1970. She later married Earl Hickey and he also preceded her in death on October 15, 2001. Pearl was a homemaker and also worked in the yardage department at The Merc Department Store in Nampa, Idaho. She was well known for the pies she baked and served at the snack bar in The Merc. Pearl also made very beautiful hand embroidered baby quilts over the years. She and her husband, Gilbert (Gib), were avid bow hunters and attended many archery events. Pearl lived in Nampa for 86 years before relocating to Surprise, AZ and later to Indianapolis, Indiana to be near her daughter, Judy. She managed to survive getting Covid-19 in 2020 at age 99. Her biggest goal in life was to live to be 100 which she accomplished in April 2021. Survivors include her son, Duane E. Martin; daughter, Judy K. Cash; 4 grandchildren, Trista Caster, Harrison Cash, Dustin and Doug Martin; and 6 great-grandchildren, Tanner and Madison Caster, Wyatt Whitaker, Evelyn Cash, Noah and Mason Martin as well as many nieces and nephews. Her parents, husbands, siblings, Richard and Harold Robinson and son-in-law, Gregory Cash, preceded her in death. Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling the arrangements. She will be buried at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell, Idaho with her husband Gilbert Martin. A Memorial luncheon will be held in April of 2022 in Nampa, Idaho.
