Pauline “Sue” Baize, age 74, Entered into eternity on July 16, 2022 at approximately 7:00 a.m. Pauline was born and raised in Newport News, Va where she graduated from Newport News Public School.
Pauline worked at Riverside Regional Hospital in the Dietary Department for over 32 years, retiring as the Dietitian Supervisor. Pauline was a God-Fearing woman, who always relied on her faith to get through tough times. A strong-minded woman, she lived her life dedicating her time and love to her family and helping others. Her heart was a bottomless well of love that she drew from when she needed to give it to others, and she did so freely with passion and grace throughout her life with laughter and a smile.
Pauline was preceded in death by her son: Tony Clayton Streater; brother: Joseph Anderson; and two grandkids: Jahmal Jones and Antonio Kelly. She is survived by her loving and caring husband of 42 years, Mr. William C. Baize of Hampton VA; Children: Annette Gatewood of Jacksonville, NC, Shaun Streater (Lavonia Bell) of Hampton, VA, Tonya Williams (Jay Jay Williams) of Northern, VA, Tora Simpson of Ruffin, NC, Gregory Baize (Lisa Baize) of Atlanta, GA; and Elder Victor Gatewood (Gail Gatewood); Aunt: Linda Phillips of Hampton VA; Special Friends: Barbara & Grady Bunch, Dwayne & Sue Scott, Berry & Jennifer Holmes; Grandchildren: Tiffany, Shaunta, Shauneathia, Victoria, Mahogany, Wachovia, Desiree, Corey, Krystal, Torey, Jaylen, Walter, Tallius, Takiye, and 18 Great Grands, a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements are coordinated through C.C. Carter Funeral Home, 3314 Roanoke Ave, Newport News, VA 23606, 757-245-4391, where family and friends are able to view Pauline’s body on Friday July 22, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
