Paul R. Wetzel, 67, passed away on March 12, 2025, he was a lifelong resident of Lake City, MI. He was born to Joseph and Bessie Wetzel (Keelan) in Owosso, MI and moved to Lake City shortly afterwards. He graduated from Lake City High School in 1975 and went into the United States Airforce serving 4 years. After that he came back to Lake City and worked on the Oil Rigs with many of his lifelong friends (they know who they are). His Brother Edward and him started a used car business called Mid-Michigan Auto and later nephew Jason Wetzel took it over. He officially retired at 65 but Paulie was always there to lend a helping hand with anything for anyone.
Paul lived a life filled with laughter kindness and a whole lot of love leaving behind a legacy that touched everyone fortunate enough to have known him, He will be missed by many friends and family.
He was an avid Hunter and Fisherman and played on the Monday night Golf League and the Town Pump Pool league.
He is survived by Jacqi Wetzel, Daughter, Nikaea Moon and son Philip Wetzel, grandchildren, Auden Randall and Stella Runyan and bonus family of Katelyn, Aubrey and Charlie K. Randall. Brother Edward (Dianna) Wetzel and Sister Nancy (Jim) Wallington all of Lake City. In-Laws, Pennee (Bill) Brief of Black Mountain, NC and John (Tammy) Parins of Las Vegas, NV and many nieces and nephews.
He preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Harold and his In-Laws Jack and Celina Parins.
Cremation has taken place at Cremation Service of McBain.
A Celebration of life will be on April 27, 2025 at the Town Pump Saloon in Lake City.
Graveside services will be at a later date.
