The Pearly Gates welcomed Paul Leo St. Laurent on January 30, 2021. His loving wife Jeannette was able to cuddle with her "bon homme" one last time the night before his death and sang a French love song. P?pere, (92 years young) was also loved and cherished by his family of four children, Claudette Macomber, Gary St. Laurent, Michael St. Laurent and Patricia Sullivan. Paul was born on May 5, 1928 and grew up in Epping NH on beautiful Red Oak Hill. He was one of eleven children with eight sisters who kept him in line.
Paul loved his country and served as a reservist looking for enemy aircraft during the war. He was very proud of his older brother, Norman, a hero and WWII survivor of the Bataan Death March. Norman later perished in a detainment camp and was the first Epping casualty of the war.
Paul retired from the Navy Yard where he spent many years painting submarines and missile tubes.
Paul and Jeannette were devout Catholics at St. Michael's in Exeter and St. Joseph's in Epping. They both loved traveling and took the four kids across the country to many national parks. The kids treasured these times and even Michael behaved.
Jeannette was the outgoing one to Paul's quiet reserved way. Except of course when he had a great kitty-whist hand or scored a ringer in horseshoes! Paul and Jeannette's love for one another lasted through 70 years of marriage which included square-dancing lessons and trips to Florida in their treasured RV. Paul, Daddy, P?pere, passed on a love and devotion to family, a dedication to hard work and his painting expertise to all his children. Eight grandkids and 5 great grandkids were fortunate enough to love, laugh and treasure P?pere. Paul is survived by his sister Violet Kramer. No services are planned at this time but a celebration of life will be held later. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Epping Historical Society. Brewitt Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Epping, NH is assisting the family. For more information, please visit brewittfuneralhome.com
