Paul Ivan Oyer, 89, of Waverly, Ohio, passed 3:55 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Traditions of Bristol Village, Waverly, Ohio.
Paul was born December 4, 1933 in Circleville, Ohio, the son of the late Robert Franklin Oyer and Olive (Blaum) Oyer. In August of 1970, Paul was united in marriage to Ann (Cooper) Oyer who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jeffrey and Kim Oyer of Lewis Center, Ohio, daughter, Elizabeth and Kelly Seif of Waverly, Ohio, four grandchildren, Kyle Paul Oyer, Jack Jeffrey Oyer, Kannon David Seif and KeeLee Elizabeth Seif, nephew Harold E. and Darla Cooper, great niece, Jenni and Jake Nathan, mother-in-law, Ruth C. Wonnell, and a close friend, Richard S. Craumer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Carroll E. Oyer and Robert. Vernon Oyer, sister, Ruth E. Cooper and great nephew, Terrance Robert Cooper, as well as many aunts and uncles.
Paul was a retired Class A Lineman for AEP. He was an avid military history enthusiast, lifetime member of NRA, member of the American Legion Merritt Post #142 Honor Guard, founder and lifetime board member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Waverly and served in the U.S. Army.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2022 at the Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, Ohio with Pastor David Burris, officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery, Waverly, Ohio with military honors performed by the America Legion Post #142 Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Friday.
