Paul M. Miller, 37, of Akron, passed away February 17, 2021. Born February 20, 1983, Paul grew up in Springfield Twp. and developed an affinity for nature, travel, and adventure at a young age, beginning when his family journeyed to far-flung destinations in a pop-up camper. Paul continued his love of camping throughout his life; and when asked about his travels, Paul's vivid blue eyes would sparkle as he recounted his awe at the salty beach air of the Outer Banks, the wonder of a stunning Florida sunrise, the stillness of the misty fog over the trees on a quiet Vermont hiking trail, or the striking vastness of the Grand Canyon. As he journeyed through life, Paul never met a stranger. He was a kind, genuine, and generous friend. Paul enjoyed playing golf, he hated heights (although he did go ziplining and indoor skydiving just to push his limits), and he liked science fiction and fantasy novels. In addition, Paul attended fireworks night at Akron baseball games whenever he could. Paul loved corny puns (while he was proud of his career in Water Reclamation with the City of Akron, he often joked about having a "crappy" job working with sewage every day). Paul excelled at trivia and board games and found deep solace in listening to an interesting rotation of bluegrass, Celtic music, and metal/rock bands.
In addition to being mourned by many special friends and extended family members, Paul is survived by his mother, Betty Frevold (Gary) of Akron; his father, Gerald Miller (Connie) of Cuyahoga Falls; one sister, Holly Miller (Zeb) of Cuyahoga Falls; one brother, Donald Miller (Kim) of Hartville; and two step-brothers, Tom Frevold (Misty) of Hartville and Steve Frevold of Akron.
