Paul Estus Lytle, 95, passed away January 19, 2021, at his home in Concord NC, surrounded by family. Paul is survived by his wife of 72 years, Sybil Foster Lytle, children, Thomas Lytle (Anne), Susan Gage, Patricia Hutchinson (Richard), Judy Hollis (Mark), and Jane Simpson, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his sons in law, Michael D. Simpson and George W. Gage, his brother Raymond Coggins and sister Nell Coggins Frady.
Paul was born November 8, 1925 in Spartanburg, SC to the late Grady Estus Lytle and the late Agnes Quinn Lytle Coggins. He was class valedictorian of Cowpens High School and an alumnus of Wofford College. During World War II and the Korean conflict, Paul proudly served in the US Navy in the Pacific area as a Combat Airman.
Paul was employed by Duke Power Co. for 37 years, having never taken a sick day. He retired in 1984 as the district office supervisor in Lancaster, South Carolina. Paul was a Life Member and Past Master of Converse Masonic Lodge #343, member of the American Legion and a past president of the Kiwanis Club.
Memorials may be given to McGill Baptist Church, Concord NC or First Baptist Church, Lancaster SC.
