Paul Richard Luehrs found peace on June 28, 2021 after battling with symptom of ALS. Paul was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on December 29, 1948 to the late Richard E. Luehrs and Rosemary (Kelm) Luehrs. After graduating from New Holstein Senior High School in 1967, Paul received a football scholarship to North Dakota State University, Fargo, North Dakota. Paul was very proud to have played four years at NDSU and as a middle linebacker won three championships. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from NDSU in 1971 and achieved a Certificate Degree in Hospital Administration from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota in 1972. In 1977, Paul received his Master of Health Administration from Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri.
On March 3, 1972, Paul married his wife of almost fifty years, Linnae (Aalgaard). Thus began a life of moves from Des Moines, IA, St. Louis, MO, Dallas, TX, Chicago, IL, back to Dallas, TX, San Francisco, CA area, Los Angeles, CA area, Walnut Creek, CA area, Bakersfield CA, Sacramento CA, Roswell, NM and finally retiring seven years ago in Corpus Christi, TX while working for three companies building new and remodeling existing Hospitals. Paul's moves and career of thirty seven years in Healthcare Administration exposed him and his wife to great adventures, interesting people, a productive career and a life time of memories. Paul was involved with the Knights of Columbus at St. Philip the Apostle Church in Corpus Christi, TX, built handy cap ramps with his Rotary Club, traveled, went to 35 Long Beach Grand Prix's while following Formula 1 racing and collected and enjoyed his favorite wines. Paul was a diehard fan of the Green Bay Packers and made yearly trips to Lambeau Field for the games.
Survivors include his wife, Linnae; brother, William (Bill) Luehrs and wife, Lynne of Arlington Heights III; sister-in-law, Pat Bell Luehrs of Pittsboro, NC; niece, Caroline Luehrs of Raleigh, NC; God-niece, Jacqueline (Drew) Locascio and Great-nephew, Hudson of Willowbrook, IL; nephew, Garrett Luehrs of Tampa, FL; stepsister, Deb Trapman of Oak Creek, WI and stepsister, Kaye Kammerer of Sheboygan Falls, WI.
Paul was preceded in death his parents, Richard E. Luehrs and Rosemary (Kelm) Luehrs and his step-mother, Peggy (Kresbsbach) Luehrs and brother, John E. Luehrs.
A Memorial Service will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 1724 Madison Street, New Holstein, Wisconsin 53061 on August 14, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.
