Paul graduated from Edina High School in 1980 in Minnesota and later from the University of Minnesota. In 1989 he moved to Athens, Georgia to further his education in the Ph.D. program in Management Information Systems. He was a computer expert and left UGA to start Athens Technology Partners, which he ran until his death. He was generous in helping friends and family with their computer problems. He was an active and valued member of the Athens social and business community, involved in BNI, Synergy, and YPN. If you were his customer, you most likely became his friend.
Paul was also an avid reader and could hold a conversation on almost any subject. He was a WW II buff, loved to play devil's advocate, and loved to be challenged. He enjoyed vacationing, especially going with his friends to Cape Sand Blas. He traveled extensively with friends and to visit friends around the world. Paul will be most remembered for his many thoughtful and kind acts.
He is survived by his father, Ronald M. Hays (Nina Norum), his mother, Inna K. Hays, his brothers Michael S. Hays and Andrew R. Hays, step-sister Kaia Peterson (Chris Chitty), step-brother Leif Peterson (Alyssa), nieces and nephews Hannah, Sam, Charley and Will Hays, Caroline and Espen Chitty, and Harriet and Callum Peterson.
