Paul Revere Gunn, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his residence in Odessa, Texas, on October 18, 2024, at the age of 98. Born on October 12, 1926, in Cross Cut, Texas, Paul lived a life marked by love, creativity, and a profound sense of spirituality.
He is survived by a loving family, including his son Michael Todd Anderson; his adored grandchildren, Christopher Barr, Michelle Anderson, Timothy Seabolt, Crissy Bell, Aaron Anderson, Roger Anderson, Justin Anderson, Bobby P. Anderson, and Crystal Anderson; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Emilie Austin, Breanne Bell, Reyna Hernandez, and Jesse Gonzalez. Paul also leaves behind his devoted daughter-in-laws, Pam Anderson and Cynthia Pryor. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Lou Gunn; his sons, Wayne Anderson and Bobby Leon Anderson; his parents, Amel and Cora Gunn; his brothers, James, Deward, A.W., and Howard Gunn; and his sisters, Lillie A.W. Griffiths, Ruth (James) Pickett, and Eva Patton.
Paul's passion for music and the arts was evident to all who knew him. He was a self-taught musician who found joy in singing and playing his guitar. His artistic talents extended to writing and composing songs and poetry, through which he touched the hearts of many. His creativity was not only a source of personal fulfillment but also a gift he shared generously with his family and friends.
A man of faith and conviction, Paul was known for his righteous and Godly nature. He stood as a pillar of strength and character in his community, embodying the virtues of love, spiritedness, and selflessness in every aspect of his life. Paul's devotion to his family was unwavering, and he was especially dedicated to his wife, Betty Lou, who was the love of his life.
Paul found comfort and entertainment in the simple pleasures of life, such as watching old western movies. He had a particular fondness for the works of George Jones, Marty Stewart, and John Wayne, whose films and music resonated with his own steadfast and pioneering spirit.
To many, Paul was the rock of his family, offering support and guidance that will be deeply missed. His son Michael regarded him as a hero, an accolade that Paul carried with quiet humility and grace. His influence and legacy will continue to live on through the values he instilled in his loved ones and the memories they shared.

A Graveside Service for Paul will begin 3 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Cross Cut Cemetery.
