Help us celebrate Paul! Please share your stories and photos, and invite others who remember Paul.
Paul Russell Almond Jr. of Loganville, Georgia went to his heavenly home on February 22, 2021 after complications from COVID-19. He was 50 years old.
"Rusty" was born on March 3, 1970 to Paul and Lynn Almond and grew up in Lilburn, Georgia where his parents still reside. He graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. Russell was described by family and friends as a good man and a good friend. He always tried to be there for the people that needed him. He had a lifelong love of science fiction and gaming where he had a group of buddies that he has known since childhood. He loved to quote Star Wars.
He loved the Lord and found out as a young man that his spiritual gift was teaching young kids. He could be found every Sunday leading Children's Church at Oak Hill or helping teach the kids at Graystone Church. His favorite bible verse he shared with his paternal grandmother was from Joshua 24:15 "But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."
Russell loved his children Victoria & Gabriel dearly and always tried to instill his love of the Lord in them. He was very proud when they gave their hearts to the Lord and carried around mementos in his wallet that marked those dates. He always worked hard to provide for his family with whatever they needed and would be there for those important events in their lives; horseshows, trips to the zoo or Fernbank.
Russell is survived by his wife of 24 years, Jennifer Almond and his children Victoria and Gabriel; parents, Paul and Lynn Almond; brother, James Almond; aunts & uncles, Sharon & Ron Holt, Marie & Richard English, John & Nancy Almond; nieces and nephews, Chloe & Mike Price, Andrew & Stephen Henry, Emma & Ian Matthey, Max & Evan Foege, Brandon, Logan, Jackson & Justin Almond; great-nephew, Sawyer; and many cousins and close friends that he dearly loved.
Russell is preceded in death by his grandparents; James & Bertha Almond, Albert & Faye Eselhorst, as well as his Aunt Kathy Eselhorst.
