Paul Douglas Algrem, age 82, of Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay.
Paul was born on January 19, 1942 in Janesville, WI to the late Lloyd and Beulah (Horn) Algrem. He was the youngest of 6 children.
On October 23, 1965 he married Carol Wolff at St. William Catholic Church in Janesville, WI.
After Janesville Senior High School, Class of 1960, he went on to become a draftsman. The family moved to Madison and eventually to Green Bay where he started his own business in construction. He belonged to both Rotary and Optimist Clubs.
Paul enjoyed hunting out west and at his cabin in Amberg, fishing in Canada with his son, brother and nephews, skiing, golfing, tennis, his cars, his dogs Cleo and Bella, going to Packer Games. He also enjoyed cooking and grilling out.
His two favorite places were their cabin on Axehandle Lake and Disneyworld where he spent many memorable times with his children and grandchildren.
Paul is survived by his wife, Carol; son Eric (Stella) Algrem; his daughter Kristine (Rafael) Garcia Cruz; five grandchildren: Ebony Walker, DeShawn Tillier, Eliot Algrem, Declan Algrem, Wren Algrem; sister Barbara Dietsch and brother David (Joan) Algrem and many nieces, nephews and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Jordan Walker, sisters Lois Birmingham and Virginia Jeriseld; and brother Lloyd Algrem, Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 3 to 6 pm at Oneida Golf and Country Club, 207 Country Club Rd., Green Bay.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. William Catholic Church in Janesville, WI on November 8, 2024. Visitation starting at 10 am with the Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 am.
Paul will be forever remembered as a caring, compassionate and generous soul. He was well known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Mary's Hospital for their care and compassion.
