Patsy Lou Weaver Pritchett, beloved wife, mother, Grammy, cousin and friend to many, peacefully went to be with the Lord at her home in Arlington, Texas on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 after a long battle with kidney disease and heart failure. Patsy was born on October 8, 1942 in Dallas, Texas to William Carson Weaver and Mary Estelle Walker Weaver. She grew up in Ben Wheeler, Texas and attended Van High School until the family moved back to Dallas. She graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1960. She was an only child but had multiple cousins who became her substitute siblings. She met John L. Pritchett at Cedar Crest Methodist Church and they married on November 21, 1962 and were together for 59 years. After high school, she worked as a clerk at the Republic Bank in Downtown Dallas. The family moved to Duncanville in 1963 and after having her children she began teaching pre-school at the First United Methodist Church in Duncanville, Texas. She later worked as a florist at Flowers by Sandra and finished her career as a secretary for the Counseling department at Mountain View College. But her favorite job was being Grammy to her four grandchildren. Her family was the joy of her life and she was so proud of each of them. She is survived by her husband John (Arlington, TX); her daughter Cathy Pritchett (Arlington, TX); son Billy Pritchett and daughter-in-law Lisa Edmonson Pritchett (Mansfield, TX); and her beloved grandchildren Jonathan Pritchett (Washington D.C.), Anna Pritchett (Spring, TX), Leah Pritchett (Denton, TX), and Luke Pritchett (Mansfield, TX). She also leaves behind several cousins, nieces and nephews, friends and her beloved dog Bentley. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, her first daughter Elizabeth Sue Pritchett and many cousins, aunts and uncles. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Community of Hope UMC on Debbie Lane in Mansfield Texas. She will be interred at the DFW National Cemetery at a private ceremony next month.
