Patsy Mitchell Hocott, 83 of Raymondville, Tx., was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday May 15,2022 in Raymondville, Texas. Patsy was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Lyford, Texas and was very active in all aspects of the Church. Patsy had been recently attending First Baptist Church in Hargill, Texas the last few years of her life.
She was born on August 9,1938 in Brady, Tx. to Ima (Tedders) and A.G. Mitchell.
In 1948, the family moved to the Lyford area where she attended school and graduated from Lyford High School in 1955. While in school Patsy was very much a part of many activities and held many honors. After graduating high school, Patsy married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Kendall Hocott. Patsy and Kendall moved to Raymondville in 1976.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Ima and A.G. Mitchell, brother Billy Talmadge Mitchell, granddaughter McKenzie Lee Hocott and brothers-in-law Lester Shed, Jerry Hocott, Curtis Lengefeld and Bill Foster.
Patsy is survived by her husband of 65 years, Kendall Hocott of Raymondville, son and daughter-in-law Dane and Charlotte Hocott of Mission, granddaughters Alexandra Hocott and Victoria Hocott of College Station, and Olivia Hocott of Mission, sister, Shirley Shed of San Antonio and cousin, Robin Shed of Raymondville, Also left behind to cherish her memory are four sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Mitchell of Somerset, Sue Ella Foster of Austin, Sandra Lengefeld of Alpharetta, Georgia, Dorothy Hocott of Pearland, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, best friends, Pastor Ken and Lynda Soles, family friend and caregiver, Pilar Trapala and many friends who loved her dearly.
Honored to be Pallbearers will be Trainor Evans, Jay Jones, Joe Pennington, Steve Shed, Cliff Gregory and Staton Shed.
Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Lyford on Thursday May 19, 2022 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the Lyford Evergreen Cemetery, Lyford, Tx.
