Patrick W. (Pat) Deagan age 80 passed away January 29, 2022 from lung cancer after a year-long illness. He was born on January 15, 1942 in Akron, Ohio and lived in the area all but two years of his life. He went to St. Vincent Grade and High School graduating in 1960 and then went on to graduate from University of Akron May, 1964.
He was Commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the Army and married his high school sweetheart Cathy Myers June 13, 1964. After two years in the Army, he returned to Akron and worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.in Tire Production & Inventory Planning Dept. for 37 1/2 years without missing a day of work and retired in late 2003.
He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan, loved to fish around the area & Lake Erie, took meticulous care of his lawn & flowers, was a contributing member of the Hibernians during his retirement, and he enjoyed an active and supportive role in the lives of his 5 Grandchildren. His last wish was granted when he got to meet his first Great- Grandchild, Ivy Dickirson who was born January 25, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill & Marian Deagan; he's survived by his Wife of 57 years, Cathy (Myers) Deagan; his Sisters, Maureen (Ed) Russell, Kathy Lindsey, Eileen Burg, Colleen (Mark) Reaman & many nieces and nephews; Children, Brian Deagan & Carolyn Miranda; Grandchildren, Lexi (Dean) Dickirson, Collin Miranda, Ashley Miranda, Joe Deagan, Gabby Deagan; and Great-Granddaughter, Ivy Dickirson. Special Connection goes to his lifelong friend John Stephenson.
Calling hours are from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022 followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Lord Jesus, 2425 Myersville Road (corner of Killian Road), Akron, OH 44312. Burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr., Suite E., Uniontown OH 44685 because of the excellent care he received from Stephanie and others, Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church or to a charity of your choice.
