Patricia Ladell Sanders, also known as Patsy and Honey to friends and family members, passed away on March 9, 2022. Born Patricia Wallace to Robert Mitchell Wallace and Gladys Wallace in Dallas, Texas on September 25, 1930, she grew up in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas during the Great Depression and World War II. She graduated from W. H. Adamson High School. She was the youngest of ten brothers and sisters. She worked for a time at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, before meeting the love of her life and future husband Herbert Sanders. They were married for 58 years, having 2 sons, Kim Sanders and Chris Sanders. Upon her husband's retirement from the telephone company, they moved from Dallas to their property at their beloved Lake Texoma. There she gardened, raised herbs, vegetables, fruit trees, and helped her husband run a landscape business for a time. Their lake place was a location of great fun, volleyball games, fishing adventures, great food, storytelling, and fun times. She worked as a volunteer librarian at the Pottsboro, Texas Library. She also worked as volunteer tutor to Texoma area children with reading disabilities. She was also a volunteer making lunches for school children that couldn't afford it. She was an amazing cook that enjoyed preparing meals and treats for family, friends, and especially children. She was an energetic, optimistic, caring, and giving soul that listened to, sat with, and helped guide people through the harshest and saddest times. She possessed the rare Celtic gift of often seeing things before they happened, which she quietly and respectfully lived with her whole life. She was a person in tune with nature and the stars, spiritual, and Christian, at her happiest when giving rather than receiving. She was a loving, devoted, and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her brothers and sisters Archie, Joseph, Grace, Herbert, Robert, Lynn, Maurice, Katherine, and Trudy. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Herbert Sanders and grandsons Rocky Sanders and Skipper Sanders. She is survived by her son Kim Sanders and his wife Martha Sanders; her son Chris Sanders; daughter-in-law Tina Sanders; sister-in-law Laveta Pettit and husband Robert; grandson Joey Sanders, his wife Barbara and great-grandson Austin; grandson Zachary Sanders, his wife Haley and great granddaughters Rowan and Arden. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, wonderful friends, and caring neighbors. A memorial service will be held at a future date.
