Patricia Ruth Peacock, age 88, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 in Austin, TX. Pat was born on March 1, 1934 in Austin, TX to Raymond and Helen (Kirk) Deison. She married Rodney Bruce Peacock on December 22, 1952 in Conroe, TX, which was the beginning of sharing 67 blessed years together.
Pat grew up in the middle of 7 children, with 3 brothers and 3 sisters. They were fond years of growing up with her siblings and all their antics and experiences. Her gifts in music, art, and creativity appeared and grew with her, as well as her heart to serve others and honor God. The family moved between Houston, Dallas, and Austin, and ultimately she graduated from Conroe High School.
Pat and Rod would begin their family in Texas, with time in California and back to Texas before taking 3 children to Cincinnati, Ohio, where the fourth arrived. They spent 16 years in Cincinnati, where Pat used all her gifts and talents raising their children, serving in multiple churches, working various jobs, and pursuing a degree in education. In 1978, they would move to west Texas, where Pat would receive her bachelor's degree from Sul Ross in Alpine, and her Masters in Art from UTPB.
With her own children grown, she began pouring into other children, teaching and greatly improving young lives in Kermit, Pecos and Pyote, often working with special education students and programs. She also continued to serve in churches with Rod, working with children, teaching classes and always a part of local prayer ministries. Her painting and piano playing were a continual part of her gifted life. She made her final assignment being a care giver to Rod, being a grandmother, and a faithful prayer warrior for family and friends. Using her many talents to serve God and others continued throughout her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Rodney Peacock; parents: Raymond and Helen Deison; granddaughter: Cheryl "Chara" Lynn Minassian; brother: Mickey Deison; and sister: Becky Damron.
