Patricia "Patti" G. Mapes, 80, of Bedford, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019 at IU Health Methodist Hospital.
Born September 16, 1938, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Frank W. and Gertie (Newell) Crawford.
She married Dale Combs in 1957 and he preceded her in death in 1986. She married William "Bill" Mapes in 1989 and he preceded her in death in 2015.
Patti worked at the Edgewood Clinic for Dr. Sorrells for 20 years, retiring in 1993.
She was a graduate of Bedford high School with the Class of 1956. She was a member of the Stonegate Faith Center; American Legion Ladies Auxiliary; past member of Otis Park Ladies Club; and founding member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary, Dunn Memorial Hospital.
Surviving are her two daughters, Diana (Andy) Nuchols, of Indianapolis, and Jamie Combs Sorrells, of Bedford; one son, Jay (Vickie) Combs, of Springville; six grandchildren, Lindsay (Daniel) Fletcher, Lacey Mitchell, Jordan (Amy) Mitchell, Brandi (Chris) Woods, Jailin Denesha, and Marty Denesha; great-grandchildren, Jude Fletcher, Knox Fletcher, Luke Fletcher ,Logan Fletcher, Nolan Woods, Landry Woods Jackson Mitchell, Evelyn Mitchell and Kinslee Schaefer; step son, Scott (Mary) Mapes, of Orleans; step grandson, Jason Floyd, of Leipsic.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bill.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, with Martie Spalding officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the service hour on Saturday at the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the White River Humane Society.
