Lost to this world, Patricia (Pat) Ann Edwards, 86, entered into eternal rest on March 24, 2022. Patricia was born on July 26, 1935, in Picayune, Mississippi, to Earnest and Willie Dell (Watson) Deese.
She was a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, affectionately called "Nana" by many. She lived most of her life in the Mid-County area, retired with her late husband to the lake area, and during these last few years, moved to Lake Charles to live near her daughter.
Patricia was a teacher for over forty-five years. She taught in Nederland ISD, Port Neches - Groves ISD, and Hemphill ISD. Even after retirement, she returned to teaching when she was needed. She loved teaching and touched many lives during her career.
She also enjoyed playing the piano. While she lived on Toledo Bend Lake, she played for her church in Hemphill. She was a member of Buna Chapter #968, Order of the Eastern Star. She held memberships in several Chapters throughout her life and loved to play the piano for the ceremonies and meetings.
Patricia was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church in Port Neches and often sang in the choir. Her vibrant personality, quick wit, and touching kindness will be missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles L. Edwards, her sister, Jeanne McGuire, and her brother, Billy Deese.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Tim Sheffield and wife, Marie, Vickie Styles, Tonya Wilson and husband, John, and Elizabeth Harmon and husband, John. She was "Nana" to Scot Sheffield (Sarah), Ryan Sheffield (Amanda), Eric Sheffield (Lauren), Jody Delahoussaye (Cristella), Charlotte Nicklebur (Jimmy), Grant Coffman (Sara), and Mitchel Harmon. She had 18 great-grandchildren. Also, her brother, Jack Deese (Marie) and a host of friends that will miss her.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at First United Methodist Church of Port Neches, 1826 Nall Street, Port Neches, TX.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the church or a charity of your choice.
