Patricia (Patty) Marie Eckhart, 70, died of natural causes at her home in Virginia Beach, VA on May 29, 2022. She was born October 6, 1951, in Boston, Mass. Patty graduated from St. Joseph's Catholic School (class of 1970) in Somerville, MA. Patty moved to Virginia Beach with her son Keith in 1983 and has lived in Virginia Beach since. She was loved by many friends, neighbors, and colleagues throughout the Virginia Beach community. In 2014 Patty retired from Verizon Communications as a Customer Support Representative and served many years as the Secretary of the CWA local 2205. Patty was predeceased by her parents Jasper and Loretta Rogers and her Brother James Rogers. Left to cherish her memory are her son Keith (Abigail) Melanson; granddaughters Kaylie and Emma Melanson; sisters Marilyn Meyers, Susan (Richard) Burnett, sister-in- law Melissa Rogers; nieces and nephews, Kristin Underwood, Erinn Loren, Chris Burnett, PJ Rogers, Justin Rogers; cousin Marie (Ricky) Carpenito, step grand-daughter Olivia Chapmon and lifelong friend Linda Hayes. A service of remembrance will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, June 4 at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 3600 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23452.
