Patricia A. Dunn, 93, died peacefully surrounded by her family on February 3rd at Day Brook Village in Holyoke.
Patricia was born January 3, 1928, the daughter of the late Adam and Frances (Naja) Veiner. Her dad died when Patricia was just 6 months old and she and her 8 sisters and brothers were raised by her mom in their Middle Street home in Hadley. Patricia graduated from Hopkins Academy and fell in love with a dashing and handsome sailor that she met at the Polish Club in Northampton after his return from duty in the Pacific during WWII. That man was James Dunn: they married and raised a son and three beautiful girls in their home on Woodbine Avenue, all graduates of St. Michael's. They were married for 65 years. Later Patricia worked at Pro-Brush and retired at 65.
Patricia was a very kind, giving, and loving person devoted to her family and always putting others before herself. She was known lovingly as "Grandma", and "Aunt Patsy" to her large and extended family. She loved to read, cook and spend time with her family, especially her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband James in 2016 and her brothers and sisters, Mary Pelissier, Helen Hartwright, Joseph Veiner, Victoria Karakula, Edward Veiner, Thaddeus and Jerome Veiner and Agnes Veiner. She leaves her son James Dunn; three daughters Theresa Howe, Elizabeth Maguire and her husband Charles, and Kathleen Dunn; her grandchildren Jamie Sears and her husband Tim, Adam Dragon and his wife Eliza, Caitlin Howe, James Maguire, Megan Maguire and her husband Alistair Parry, Matthew Dunn and his wife Amy and Nathan Dunn: Great grandchildren, Evan Garvey, Michal and Julia Dragon and Jacoby and Avery Dunn. She also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews and dear friends Charles Radziewicz, Carol Dunn and Bradley Howe.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Annunciation Chapel in Florence to which the public is invited at 10:30 AM on Monday February 8th. Due to covid, all guests are required to wear masks and practice social distancing. For online condolences, please visit CZELUSNIAKFUNERALHOME.COM.
