Patricia Ann DeWall, age 81 of Caledonia, MN passed away April 17, 2022 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
She was born on March 8, 1941 in Austin, MN to Donald and Ardis (Severson) Shirk; She attended school at Austin-Pacelli High School in Austin. On July 3, 1959, Pat married LeRoy DeWall in Grand Meadow, MN.
Pat had worked at Rusert's IGA, Quillin's IGA and ABLE in Caledonia, she had also babysat for several families. She was an excellent baker, making cakes, cookies and other wonderful items for her family and others to enjoy. She also enjoyed rearranging the household furniture. Pat enjoyed making ceramics and painting, and other kinds of crafting. She and LeRoy enjoyed dancing, and Pat enjoyed many kinds of music, often times tapping along with her hands to the rhythm. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Caledonia, and its W.E.L.C.A. She was also a Sunday School teacher.
Surviving her are her children Doug (Kathy) and Jerry (Sue) DeWall of Caledonia, Kathy (Tom) Renk of New Albin, IA, Mike (Lynnette) DeWall of Bangor, WI, Sheri (David) Olafson of La Crescent, MN, and Tim (Andrea) DeWall of Caledonia, MN.
Grandchildren Nicole (Dean Gavin) DeWall, Darin (Darla Quinnell) DeWall, Cristina DeWall, Shelby (Jerry) Marx, Jeremy (Audrey Stilin) DeWall, Emily (Dillion) Stone, Eric Rud, Elliott and Ella Renk, Alex and Zach DeWall, DeAnna (Charles) Dillon, Colton and Chase DeWall. Many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and cousins. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters-in-laws Don and Gail Shirk and Glenn and Emmy Shirk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leroy, her granddaughter Erin Rud, and brothers-in-law Elvern, Harris, Richard and Marlyn DeWall and sisters-in-law Jannette Sweeney, Marie Baade, Iris DeWall, Mary DeWall, Pam Shirk, Florence DeWall and Althea Williams. Brother's-in-law Hank Baade, Hubert Sweeney, nieces Cynthia DeWall, Sharon Wright, Karen Pederson, and nephews David Baade, John Tripp and Matthew Shirk, and Daughter-in-law Barb (Rauk) DeWall.
Private family memorial services were held Sunday, April 24 at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Caledonia. Pastor Steven Meyer officiated. There was a public visitation from noon until 2 p.m. at the church. Private burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
Roble Funeral Home of Spring Grove is assisting the family with arrangements.
