Patricia A Borkowski, 82, of Pewaukee, entered God's Glory on August 23, 2020 following an extended battle with cancer, and a brief time in hospice care at home with her family.
Pat, or Patsy as she was known by her friends and family, was born June 30, 1938, in Watertown, WI. The daughter of Lawrence and Margaret (Tessmann) Kugath. She married Donald J. Stenz on September 22, 1962. Don preceded her in death on November 8, 1994. She married Harvey Borkowski in May of 1999 on the Sea of Galilei, Israel. Harvey preceded her in death on February 20, 2011.
Beloved sister of the late Sandy (the late Gary) Scholl. Beloved mother of John (Michelle) Stenz, David (Bonnie) Stenz and Andrew (Lisa) Stenz. Dear Grandmother of Emily (Trace) Borchardt, Sarah, Clara, Jack, Ryan, and Hannah Stenz.
Pat was a wonderful homemaker, friend to many, and loved to talk about her love for hats. She helped many churches and various charities by presenting "Pat's Hats" a special collection of hats and fascinating stories about each of her "ladies" (Her hats).
No tribute to Pat would be complete without recognizing her relationship with God. Her faith began as a very
young girl when her Aunt Lillian introduced her to the gospel, and that salvation was not about attending church or doing good deeds, it was about a personal relationship each of us can have with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. From that young age, Pat was on a journey to learn more about this Savior Jesus Christ. She had many mentors, and friends in Christ that helped her understand this amazing and free gift from God, if we will only accept it. In the gospel of John, Jesus is talking to a man named Nicodemus "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." 3:3 Nicodemus didn't understand, Jesus went on to tell him "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." 3:16. Pat believed these words, and accepted Jesus Christ as the Savior and Lord of her life. She loved the Lord! She wanted everyone to know the Good News! If you knew Pat, know that she prayed for you! By name! She wanted everyone to have this same abiding faith and confidence that death is not the final statement on our life. Praise be to God!
The family held a private burial at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.
A Celebration will be held on Saturday September 12, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Gospel Fellowship of Sussex with Pastor Dave Newton leading a time of praise and thanksgiving for the life we shared with Pat. A time of fellowship with the family will follow the service. All ladies are encouraged to wear a hat!
Memorials would be appreciated for Gospel Fellowship of Sussex (www.gospelfellowshipofsussex.com) or Camp Forest Springs (www.forestsprings.us)
