Stoughton – Patricia Ann “Pat” Backus, age 91, passed away on Monday June 13, 2022, in Stoughton. Pat was born in 1931 in Omaha, NE to Francis and Clara (Strzelecki) Stilmock. She later moved to Madison and became an X-Ray Tech where she met Bob Backus and they were married in 1952. Together they raised 5 children. She was the Activity Director at Nazareth House in Stoughton for over 36 years.
Spending time with family and friends was important to Pat. She enjoyed many adventures, activities, hobbies and travel. Pat was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church.
Pat is survived by her children James (Dona) Backus, Michael (Vicky) Backus, John Backus, William (Sue) Backus and Claudia (George) Campbell, grandchildren Nick Backus, Kyle Backus, Austin Backus and Natalie Campbell. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren and numerous family and friends. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Bob and her 4 siblings.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday June 17, 2022, at ST. ANN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 323 N. Van Buren St., Stoughton. Visitation will be 10:00 AM at the church prior to the service. Pat requested memorials may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church.
