VIROQUA, WI - Patricia A. "Pat" Haugen, age 73, of Viroqua, WI, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021. She was born on March 18, 1948 in Monroe, WI, the third of eight children to Russell and Clara (Geiser) Binger. Pat grew up on a farm near Pecatonica, IL, and attended the local school. On November 2, 1965, she married Lawrence Haugen and over the next 56 years they farmed together and raised their family. Pat knew how to make desserts, and no one can claim that they ever left her house hungry. Whether it was pecan pie, cookies, homemade bread, or you name it, Pat could bake anything, especially cakes and treats for special occasions. Regardless of how much or little she had, Pat gave generously to others - there was always room for one more at her table. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, fishing, reading books, working on puzzles, and Polka dancing. Pat was also a huge sports fan who enjoyed all high school sports, and Badger and Packer Football. Above all, she loved the Lord with all her heart and is now in His presence.
Pat is survived by her husband, Lawrence; children: Ron (Sue) Haugen and Rita (Steve "Bubba") Brandt; six grandchildren: Kaylee (Paul) Toillion, Kara Brandt, Quinn Brandt, Cole Brandt, Gina Taylor, and Beth Verzani; three great-grandchildren: Avett and Noah Toillion, and Jaxon Paull; her siblings: Howard (Alice) Binger, Anita Render, Martha (Fred) Olson, Harold Binger, Mary Beck, Rose (Paul) Byl, and Laura (Terry) Henze; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and a dear aunt, Evelyn Binger.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law: Dave Render, Homer Henning, and Don Beck; and various other members of her extended family.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Viroqua Church of Christ with Andrew Pratt officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Viroqua Church of Christ, and on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Thorson-Popp Funeral and Cremation Services in Viroqua is entrusted with her services.
