Pat Strong, 78, of Lubbock, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Covenant Medical Center.
Mr. Strong was born on May 24, 1942 in Lubbock to the late Samuel David Strong and Ellouise Jane (Townsend) Strong.
He grew up in Lubbock and graduated from Monterey High School in 1960. Furthering his education, he obtained his Bachelors of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 1964, and his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern California in 1965.
He married Jane (McCutcheon) Strong on December 22, 1962 in Denver, Colorado.
Mr. Strong was President of the family business, Townsend - Strong, Inc., a Chevron distributorship, where he worked from 1967 to 2001. He then became a Financial Advisor with A. G. Edwards from 2002 to 2009. He was also active in his farming interests in Seagraves up until the time of his death. He loved fishing, hiking, hunting, and reading, but most of all, spending time with his family.
Pat was a quiet man with a wonderful sense of humor. He always had joy in his eyes and a big smile on his face.
Mr. Strong's grandparents were founding members of First Christian Church in Lubbock, where he has been a life-long member.
Surviving Mr. Strong include his wife, Jane; his children, Matthew Strong and his wife Julie of Dallas, Tiffany Davis and her husband Andy of McKinney, and David Strong and his wife Line of Dripping Springs; one sister, Pam Strong Davis of Lubbock and four grandchildren. Pat was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Steve Davis.
Celebration of Life Services will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the First Christian Church, with Rev. Paul Carpenter as the officiant.
